Manufactured by MSR. the new improved Quick Link Microfilter is 20% smaller, 50% lighter and has a 0.2 micron absolute pore size to remove bacteria, cysts and protozoa such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium and E.Coli. The Hydrolink filter is placed in-line between the reservoir and the drink tube for "as you drink" filtering. Alternately, the filter may be configured to filter water as you refill your reservoir when used in conjunction with the Camelbak Tactical Pump. This method assures that your reservoir stays clean. Just place the filter between the pump and the Hydrolink connection on the drink tube. This two-stage filter uses a hollow fiber membrane to filter contaminants 0.2 microns and larger, plus granular activated carbon to reduce some metals such as lead and mercury and improve the taste and smell of source water. The filtered water will need additional treatment with chlorine dioxide tablets or similar purifier for protection against viruses.
