Hello! You have set interesting, but at the same time a complicated question. At our forum for the first time I see such subjects and furthermore I do not know who from ours can understand them. Detailed parametres of blades can write?
Thanks Edelweiss, The first sword is called " saif"/ some may name it "gurade"/. Actually the blade is made for Ethiopians, either in Britain or Germany. On one side of the blade you can see "The Lion of Judea", underneath the sign " O.Terzian". On the opposite side you can hardly see The Emperor Menelik II, who defeated the Italian troops in the Battle of Adwa in 1896,1-3 March, during their invasion. The second sword is called " shotel". The purpose of the curved blade is to attack the enemy around his shield. The scabbard is made of very thick skin. You can see more in oriental-arms, in Internet. I need names of Russian forums, for sword collectors to contact and offer them the sword and will appreciate any information I can get. Best regards

Thank you nice people, for your help. My name is Emil.I will keep in touch and inform you what is going on. Wish everybody lots of reasons to smile Best regards Emo
Hi mate, Personally I find it rather odd you wish to sell your swords namely to Russia. You should be aware that people importing edged weapon to Russia experience great problems with Customs and stuff so I would not say that you chose very lucrative marketing destination. If I were in your shoes I would try to list your items on american Ebay.com or any European militaria auction instead as you won't have any problems with the delivery of the swords then. Kind regards Conduit
Hi Conduit, Thank you for the advices. What you say regarding " importing edged weapon to Russia ", sounds to me as " mission impossible". Would you give some more detail. It seems to me you are experienced. Maybe other members will be also interested. Kind regards Emo
Emil! I wish to tell you that at us customs in Russia very strict, namely certificates on your swords are necessary that they are the antiquarian weapon and then the buyer will receive a minimum of problems with customs. Yours faithfully, Pavel. Good luck.
Thank you Pavel. But what do you mean by "namely certificates on your swords are necessary that they are the antiquarian weapon". Do you know how other people have done such transactions? Can you check for me? Best regards Emil
All is simple in Russia anyway. In the Ministry of Culture we bring our weapon with the years more than 50 years, the expert does the conclusion that the weapon brought by us - a historical value so the law on the weapon on it does not extend, and we can easy sell, send it in other countries and other. As a rule, questions in the presence of such document at customs does not arise. Or if you do not have possibility to make documents on your weapon, you should organise delivery to the buyer of the weapon without problems with customs, that is actually on hands, for example - the courier. A legal way Yours faithfully, Pavel. Good luck.
Pavel, I think there's a more complicated procedure that you've rendered in fact. Actually in Ukraine there's no law about the permission of the weapon purchases.
I doubt whether our Ministry of culture will issue any document, even our National museum will not, for the reason, these swords have nothing to do with the Bulgarian history. Actually they have. Let me tell you a short story. The swords were three. The third sword was " Златоусть", 1877. I found them in the ruins of an old family house, built in the old way from mud and straw, used as junk yard by our relatives, in a small village, where my father was born. From the stories told me by my grandfather, my great great grandfather participated in three wars- the First Bslkan, the Second Balkan and the First World War. It is obvious to me, he brought them, but where from, how and why, I do not know. Why do you think there will be no problem if I use courier, in case the laws are so strictly followed by the customs? Here are some pics of " Златоусть", 1877. http://prikachi.com/files/1297320x.jpg http://prikachi.com/files/1297321N.jpg http://prikachi.com/files/1297322d.jpg http://prikachi.com/files/1297323o.jpg Best regards Emil
