26-27 апреля 2013г. в г.
Hallo, its my first post on this forum. I will add some more info to Kurbat´s topic... Our "KG Süd" portrayed soldiers of SS-Pz. Gren. Ausbildungs u. Ersatz Btl. 2., which were in that time stationed in kaserne in Praha-Rusin near airport (ex-artillery kaserne). Commander of this Ers. Btl. was SS-Hauptsturmführer Jacob Oetinger. On 5th May 1945 garrison refused transfer of kaserne and airport areal to czech "rebels" and there was prepared circle defense of whole area. About 300 Waffen-SS soldiers was there. In this time whole area was surrounded by 4th ROA Rgt (they were attacked by Me-262s from airport). Then LW and W.SS HQ decided to break through ROA defence and to retreat on west to US lines... Evacuation prepares began in night of 6.-7. May. In the morning started colone their way (consisted of Waffen-SS and LW). Colone somehow slipped out to Louny (in this time was airport still defenced by 120 SS men of Ostuf. Wagner, their fate is unknown...). On 7th May colone arrived to Zlonice (10 km north of Slaný), where they heared message of capitulation. Commander decided to dissolve the unit... Until 14. May, these SS-Maenner were put together as POWs (with ROA men). All of them were immediatelly shot and killed by Red Army. So - from this Btl. survived only commander and some of soldiers. Others found their death in area between Zlonice-Žatec.... (so, maybe in Slaný - there weren´t any fight like this.......) ps. info can be found here: Stanislav AUSKÝ, Vojska generála Vlasova v Čechách : kniha o nepochopení a zradě, Praha 1996, s. 147-151. + Wolfgang VOPERSAL, Vom SS-VT zum SS-Pz. Great photos Petr, love the in city fighting. Is the SS unit stationed in Prague barracks had anything to do with the SS-Prag regiment that was formed form members of various SS schools?
Thanx Norman , but have to say, SS in Protektorat B. u. M. isnt "my cup of tea" . But things around TÜP Boehmen are very interesting for me. Still good question, maybe will someone other have answer ? I´ll try to take a look on it... Did you mean SS Ausbildungs Regiment Prag ??? /found that Rgt. was made in V. 1942 for train "17-jähriger Freiwilligen" of W.SS. Together there was 12. Komp. At the end of 1943 was Rgt. dissolved to fighting SS units. source http://www.fronta.cz/
