Heinz-Wolfgang "The Night Ghost Of St. Trond" Schnaufer (16.02.1922 – 15.07.1950) highest scoring night fighter ace in the history of aerial warfare. Credited with shooting down five or more enemy aircraft during aerial combat. All of his 121 aerial victories were claimed at night, mostly against British four-engine bombers. He received the highest military award KC with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds.
