Додам по Житомері

 

Невдалося взяти ось таке цікаве фото - невідомий відділ укр. шуми/поліції, відділ посилений німецький броневиком. Номер - РУ - Райхкомісаріат Україна.

Виглядає що отримали шапки ушанки з складів естонської армії - на другому фото видно естонську між-воєнну кокарду:

 

це також українські поліціянти?

 

Українські Хіві/ранні допоміжні частини, носили уніформи ЧА з синьо-жовтими опасками і петличками.

 

Ще варіан можуть бути чеські шоломи Wz28.

Трапились такі фото. Писали що Вінничина. На першому фото видно поліцейського в мазепинці.

 

Такий крій мазепинок був популярний на Волині

 

Any photos of the Ukrainian auxiliary police raised by the Italian occupational forces 1942-43 ?

What uniforms or armbands were issued to these auxiliary police ?

Only seen one photo that may show a member of the auxiliary police controlled by the Italian carabinieri.
Not sure of the location or date.

 

Hi, the fellow with a hat and the armband appears to be a local cossack - he is wearing a traditional cossack hat. His collar tabs remind me of those worn by Ukrainian Free Cossacks, so it is possibly that he is part of that unit. Ukrainian interpreters in Italian army wore regular RIA uniforms. See photo attached.

 

Thanks for the reply, i also thought fellow was a local cossack, but didn't know about Ukrainian free cossacks , but i still think it could be a locally raised auxiliary policeman.
Can't make out the collar tabs though.
Is he wearing a civilian or Italian suppied jacket?

 

From that photo you can't really tell, but other photos that I have see, with similar collar tabs - they are wearing German tunics.

 

Interesting answer Norman, just to clarify , are you saying that the auxiliary police (Ukrainian volunteers) raised by the Italians / carabinieri wore German tunics ?
Any links to other forums or websites that show these Ukrainian auxiliary police wearing the German tunics ?

- No. The Cossack units (Ukrainian Free Cossacks) raised by Germans are wearing German army tunics. I assumed the men in photo is wearing such tunic, because his rank tab is identical to tabs worn by such Cossack units. If a Cossack unit is raised by Italians, then I am quite sure that unit will be outfitted with Italian uniforms.

P.S. The subject of Ukrainian volunteers in Italian army is quite obscure, other then the photo that I have posted, I do not have any more information/photos available.

Well not all of them. On Ukrainian territory also operated cossack units form Don, Terek and Kuban. Ukrainian cossacks were probably the least organized.
